What do you know about Mexico?

Coming to Mexico to do your TEFL training and teach is quite an experience. Today, there are many misconceptions of the country and the experience it has to offer. Let’s cover some of the basic features this country has to offer you as a new English teacher.

Covering over 760,000 sq miles, Mexico is the fifth largest country in the Americas by total area and the thirteenth largest independent nation in the world. With an estimated population of over 112 million, it is the eleventh most populous country and the most populous Spanish-speaking country. In terms of its economy; Mexico has the 13th largest nominal GDP and the 11th largest by purchasing power parity. GDP annual average growth for the period of 1995–2002 was 5.1%. The Mexican economy is expected to nearly triple by 2020. According to Goldman Sachs, by 2050 Mexico will have the 5th largest economy in the world.

So these are some of the facts that are simply not well known about Mexico. Teaching EFL in this country presents a great assortment of opportunities to begin a new career or simply to immerse yourself in a different culture for an extended period of time without having to accumulate massive savings to do so.

The cost of living in Mexico is very low when compared to other countries. You can easily get by, comfortably, with less than $600.00 USD per month.
